Ahoy!
I’m Vera, a human-computer interaction PhD student at UC Santa Cruz advised by Dr. Kate Ringland under the Computational Media department. My research focuses on how assistive technologies mediate the abstraction and interpretation of subjective media.
As a creative technologist, I craft playful and interactive experiences that integrate technology with artistic expression through physical computing and creative coding.
I am also a wearer of many hats – both figuratively, in the sense that I have an arsenal of 98735 different random skills, and literally, thanks to my extensive collection of baseball caps.
Outside of work, you can find me playing a variety of instruments (mainly clarinet, saxophone, and bass), trying new foods, and singing my heart out at karaoke!
