Ahoy!

I’m Vera, a human-computer interaction PhD student at UC Santa Cruz advised by Dr. Kate Ringland under the Computational Media department. My research focuses on how technology can facilitate art-making and play as a healing practice among neurodivergent and disabled communities.

As a creative technologist, I craft playful and interactive experiences that integrate technology with artistic expression through physical computing and creative coding.

I am also a wearer of many hats – both figuratively, in the sense that I have an arsenal of 98735 different random skills, and literally, thanks to my extensive collection of baseball caps.

Outside of work, I am a big Taylor Swift fan. I also enjoy bouldering, a cozy cafe moment, and playing the clarinet and saxophone.
